It's somewhat rare to find works depicting families and even harder to find marriages and weddings in the fantasy genre so I'm more than happy to share when I do

This is also another instance of Japanese love of the dark skin/light hair color scheme. 

SFW: Nintendo's Official Legend of Zelda Time Line

While some of the games are direct sequels like Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask or Zelda & Adventure of Link for the most part the story lines in the series are pretty much the same core origin story of Link saving Zelda form Ganon told over and over with various differences in the details. This gave the series as a whole the feeling of having 1 "true" root story that has been retold and interpreted by a wide variety of cultures form various periods enough times for the real history of Zelda to become a "Legend". However there are plenty of details, characters, & locations that have a "chronology" to them even when the games themselves don't have any definite chronology with each other. this has lead fans to ask for a definitive time line or explanation of the nature of the Zelda games which both Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto have been evasive about.     
  
Now, after years of speculation and wild theories Nintendo has finally created an official set timeline for the Zelda franchise. Eiji Aonuma who has helped produce almost all of the newer Zelda tiles co-edited the publication of the book "Hyrule Histroia" which this chart comes form.

The diverging paths due to Zelda & Link's time shenanigans in OoT makes sense and has been a fan theory for a while;

Whoever made this got it spot on.

but what's up with that whole "The Hero is Defeated" path? Is this what happens if you get a game over and if so then why don't the rest of the games have a failed end? Or is there some 3rd secret end to Ocarina that I don't know about, like one in some Japan only magazine? 


Despite the oddness of an extra path I am glad Nintendo finally did this.

I hope we see those Scotty dogs in the Zelda games again soon.

If you think about all the stories about children finding a magical realm or falling into a world of enchantment you have to wonder, do the things we perceive as otherworldly and impossible have fantasies of our curious world? 

NSFW: Wild Tribal Elf

I find it interesting how there are so many brown and black skinned girls with blonde or white hair in Japanese illustrations and character designs. The aesthetic can be pretty striking and isn't only limited to the land of the rising sun with Storm being the most predominant western example to come to mind.
  
I think that the tribal and naturalistic styles are over looked far too much when it comes to the wild  or forest elves. When you think about it a people who would want to be close with nature and have little negative impact on it wouldn't be running around in 5 layer dresses, a whole bunch of plate mail, or even a fancy dress coat but clothes made out of animal & plant mater or nothing at all and would craft things out of traded, gifted, or scavenged goods.
